As wildfire restrictions lift, Quebec-based Resource Base is getting up for exploration to start on its much-anticipated Wali and Ernst Lake projects within James Bay on August 10.

Resource Base (ASX:RBX) says Explo-Logik, also based in Quebec, is preparing the on-ground program after abundant pegmatites spanning distances of 1,600m were identified.

RBX announced last week it had generated several impressive targets at the Wali project following the visual identification of pegmatites over an extensive strike.

RBX says these high priority targets support the known data on significant magnetic breaks, and previous known pegmatite occurrences from SIGEOM (the Quebec online mining information system).

The data was also paired with information produced in a recent airborne magnetic survey and target generation swiftly undertaken via desktop analysis of historical mapping and airborne surveys.

The explorer says a detailed sampling and mapping program will be undertaken to identify potential spodumene hosting pegmatites.

Soil and rock-chip samples will be sent to ALS Laboratories in Val-d’Or, Quebec for analysis.

Keen to get start exploration program

Canada has experienced one its worst wildfire seasons in history.  There have been fire bans and subsequent road closures in the western provinces that prevent access to the project.

Executive director Brent Palmer says it is a relief to finally see the bans lifted and start exploring in James Bay.

“We are pleased to advise that the company can commence the summer exploration program,” he says.

“The in-country team, accommodation and helicopter are engaged, and we are eager to test the visual targets along the 1,600m of strike.”

RBX has 100% ownership of two lithium exploration projects, Wali and Ernst Lake, both in the highly prospective James Bay lithium province, host to several major players and significant recent discoveries.
