Metallurgical test work is about to get underway for Carlyle Commodities’ (CSE: CCC) Newton Gold Project as the management team works to push the project forward.

The company has selected Base Metallurgical Labs out of Kamloops, British Columbia to conduct the testing. Samples will be selected from previous diamond core samples collected at the Newton Project. The company aims to investigate the preliminary recovery of gold and silver for the samples provided using conventional processing tech.

It’s expected that one master composite will be assembled from a variety of samples from continuous intervals from various drill holes. Testing will focus on investigating leaching at a range of particle sizes as well as gravity concentration and sulphide flotation processes.

The Newton Gold project, found 100 kilometres west of the city of Williams Lake, BC, is said to be analogous to Artmeis’ Blackwater project, which is found 180 kilometres to the northwest.

The project, at 24,000 hectares in size, has a 2022 inferred resource estimate of 861,400 ounces of gold at 0.63 g/t, and 4.68 million ounces of silver at 3.43 g/t. Notably, the resource covers just 7% of the project, or 0.5 square kilometres. It was assembled based on 34,000 metres of drilling across 128 drill holes to date.
