Voltaic ready to roll with maiden drilling at priority Ti Tree lithium targets

Voltaic Strategic Resources has secured a drill rig to drill untested priority targets at its Ti Tree (South) project in WA this week.

The ~3,500m reverse circulation (RC) program is focused on the ‘Morpheus’, ‘Lewis’ and ‘Akira’ prospects where several pegmatites have been mapped at surface close to Lithium-Caesium-Tantalum (LCT) pathfinder soil anomalies.

Notably, Morpheus and Akira are interpreted to reside in the ‘Goldilocks’ zone, focusing on highly prospective Leake Spring Metamorphic pelitic schists – which has shown to host many significant intersections identified by Delta Lithium (ASX:DLI) at the neighbouring Yinnietharra lithium project.

18 priority targets in total

Morpheus, Lewis, and Akira are just three of the 18 priority target areas identified at Ti Tree to date where an extensive number (>300) of pegmatites have been mapped.

Voltaic Strategic Resources (ASX:VSR) CEO Michael Walshe said this round of drilling follows the valuable insights learned from the maiden campaign, which just scratched the surface at the project – with more targets likely to be generated as exploration continues.

“The new RC rig has the capacity to drill deeper than previous campaigns allowing us to thoroughly examine the extents of the pegmatite swarms at each prospect,” he said.

“We have additional deeper holes planned at Andrada to delineate bounding lithological contacts and to examine untested LCT potential plunge target areas.

Further target generation planned in October

Concurrently, target generation continues with reconnaissance field work underway focusing on geological mapping, rock chip sampling and soil surveys, all of which will are designed to quickly assess target areas and systematically generate additional drill prospects.

“Moreover, airborne drone magnetic / radiometric and photogrammetry surveys will commence in October which will assist with further target generation,” Walshe added.
