Voltaic Strategic Resources has kicked off maiden drilling at the Andrada prospect at its Ti Tree lithium project in the Gascoyne region of WA.

The first pass program will comprise ~1,250m of RC drilling & covers seven areas of geochemical anomalism, where multiple pegmatites have been mapped at surface.

The objective is to accelerate the company’s understanding of the project’s geology and vector towards prime lithium, caesium, tantalum (LCT) targets in subsequent campaigns – in what is emerging as a new critical minerals hotspot.

Additionally, the resulting data will be used to understand the continuity, geochemistry, and structural orientation of the LCT pegmatites within the project and will “potentially unlock several more prospective targets across Ti Tree’s extensive 212km2 tenement package,” the company says.

Second drill campaign since listing

Voltaic Strategic Resources (ASX:VSR) CEO Michael Walshe said he is extremely pleased to have embarked on Voltaic’s second drill campaign since commencement of trading on the ASX last October.

“This lithium-focused drill campaign is geared towards a two-fold objective: deepening our understanding of the geology at Ti Tree, and identifying our next level of targets,” he said.

“We have a substantial amount of pegmatite outcrop across the project and are using the drill bit as the most effective exploration tool to further unlock the regional geological puzzle as we vector towards a discovery.

“With several hundred pegmatites identified to date and over 200km2 of highly prospective ground to explore, it is imperative to understand the structural controls, host rock setting and zonation features that are unique to the regional pegmatites at Ti Tree.”

Targets in the same belt as Yinnietharra

Notably, all seven targets are located within the ‘Volta Corridor’ – a major belt of lithium-bearing pegmatites that contains Delta Lithium’s (ASX:DLI) (previously Red Dirt Metals) Yinnietharra Lithium Project, where a 90,000m drill program is underway.

“Concurrently, our surface exploration continues along the most prospective lithological schists associated with the Volta Corridor ‘Goldilocks Zone’, and we will soon undertake a number of surveys including: airborne magnetics/radiometrics, photogrammetry, and gravity,” Walshe said.

“This should significantly increase our number of drill targets at Ti Tree, from the already identified ~30, and will yield several months of active exploration news flow.

“These additional data sources will be overlayed with the forthcoming drilling data, and allow subsequent ranking of priority targets which represents the most effective use of capital going forward” he said.
