There’s a clear development pathway in site for GT1’s flagship Seymour lithium project in Ontario, Canada as the team readies for exploration across the unexplored North Seymour tenements.

Over the past six months, the company’s focus has been on fast-tracking the Aubry hard rock spodumene deposits at Seymour from exploration into development with a goal to be construction ready in 2024 ahead of first spodumene production in 2025 and first hydroxide production in 2027.

So far, Green Technology’s (ASX:GT1) geology team has only been able to get on the ground for one field season, allowing them to briefly explore the southern Seymour project area before the winter season started and the company kicked-off an accelerated drilling program which saw the Mineral Resource Estimate at North Aubry double.

This year, however, GT1 says it’s looking forward to starting a maiden exploration program across the Northern tenements, which is bigger than the south Seymour tenements and sits right on the greenstone belt with structural and geophysical similarities to the well mineralised zones at North and South Aubry

Upcoming drilling will home-in on the untested targets within the southern tenement area as well as any additional priority targets identified from field exploration on areas that have never been explored for Lithium.

Highly prospective for new discoveries

“Exploration to date on the Aubry deposits has focused on increasing tonnes and increasing confidence levels of material feeding into a centralised concentrator, however a much larger portion of the Seymour project that sits to the north with the same greenstone belt, remains highly prospective yet unexplored for lithium bearing pegmatites,” GT1 CEO Luke Cox says.

“This year we are looking forward to starting our maiden exploration program as we step out on the Northern tenements proximal to the Seymour hub and believe the area is highly prospective for potential new discoveries”.

What’s next?

Seymour’s field exploration program will kick off in June, comprising prospecting, mapping, and soil sampling.

A variety of techniques will be used to gather data and information which have yielded positive results across the company’s other lithium exploration properties.

Ground investigations along interpreted structures throughout the main Seymour block, including North Aubry, Pye, West Limb will continue and GT1 will begin its maiden field exploration on the 91.35km2 North Seymour tenement blocks that have never been explored for lithium.

Drilling at Seymour will be paused from mid-April to focus on exploration and targets generated by successful field work will be added to the Priority 1 drill hole targets remaining on the property and will be tested when resource definition drilling resumes in August 2023.
