The next phase of exploration is set to begin for First Lithium Minerals (CSE: FLM) at their OCA project in northern Chile.

The company intends to follow-up on previously conducted transient electromagnetic and magneto-telluric geophysical surveys with an inaugural brine resource exploration program. The program is set to target the salar de Ascotan, which is said to display promising geophysical characteristics.

Five holes are planned to be drilled to depths of up to 500 metres, with brine sampling to occur at 12 metre intervals. Methods of drilling and brine sampling will be dependent on lithology and hydrogeological conditions. Priority drill targets have already been selected for the program.

“We are very pleased to have completed the assessment work for priority drill targets which we believe show the hallmarks of hydrogeological conditions typical of brine deposits in northern Chile,” commented CEO Rob Saltsman.

Drilling is currently slated to occur in the second half of the year. The program is said to be conditional upon receipt of the required permits, licenses, and agreements.

First Lithium last traded at $0.08 on the CSE.
