Exploration is now underway for First Lithium Minerals (CSE: FLM) at their wholly owned OCA Lithium Project, found in Chile. The company this morning indicated that it has begun the process of conducting geophysical surveys on its property.

The firm has contracted SouthernRock Geophysics SA to conduct both transient electromagnetic as well as magneto-telluric surveys. Data collected from the surveys will be used to define resistivity parameters on the prospect areas of the project, with the company focusing on the depth of such parameters.

Surveys are to occur along spacing of 500 to 1,000 metres over select concessions of the project areas, on a 200 metre coincident loop, for 60.6 line kilometres. Data collected overall is expected to provide a better understanding of sediments, brine signatures, and lithology, while enabling stronger geologic modeling.

“We are extremely pleased to begin our geophysics exploration work program at the OCA Project in Chile. It’s an exciting time for our project as we begin to roll out our exploration strategy which will focus on better understanding the geologic structure and lithology of our salar prospects and identifying potential drill targets,” said First Lithium CEO Rob Saltsman.

The OCA Lithium Project consists of 8,900 hectares of exploration concessions in northern Chile, within the Ollague, Carcote, and Ascotan salars. Surveying work on the property is expected to be completed by the end of November.

First Lithium last traded at $0.145 on the CSE.
