Drilling underway: Golden Mile is testing 5 highly prospective gold targets at Yuinmery

• 5 RC holes will test highly-prospective gold targets
• The target areas contain strong gold-in-soil anomalies
• Metallurgical testwork ongoing, drilling results from Golden Mile’s Quicksilver project due soon ahead of potential scoping study

Golden Mile Resources is spinning the drill bit across five prospective targets at its Yuinmery gold project in WA’s Murchison region.

Golden Mile Resources’ (ASX:G88) Yuinmery project is just 12km from Rox Resources’ (ASX:RXL) advanced 3.2Moz Youanmi gold project.

The drilling of the targets — identified from previous aircore drilling, aeromagnetic data and the Yuinmery review conducted in May — is designed to understand the style and setting of the gold mineralisation at Yuinmery.

Drilling

The current program consists of 5 RC holes for a total of 1,075m within the Elephant Reef, Ladies Patch, Pirates Patch, Happy Camper and Yuinmery Trend targets.

These areas are associated with very strong gold-in-soil anomalies and aeromagnetic structural anomalies, where near-surface gold mineralisation has been intersected.

The extensive patch is a 5.8km long x 1.1km wide surface gold enrichment, which is coincident with a structurally complex area associated with a flexure of the large regional Yuinmery Fault.

G88 says this “demonstrates that the Yuinmery project is highly prospective for gold and large prospective areas remain completely untested, and furthermore, there has been no deeper RC drilling completed within this trend”.

“We see a lot of potential at Yuinmery and the commencement of drilling is a significant milestone in leveraging this potential and growing the project’s value,” G88 MD Damon Dormer says.

Assays from drilling are expected early November this year.

Drill results incoming from Quicksilver flagship

G88 recently completed a 7 hole RC drilling program at its flagship Quicksilver nickel-cobalt project, designed to test a high grade area beneath the oxide resource.

This could potentially transform the project, an oxide clay hosted nickel-cobalt deposit with a current indicated and inferred resource of 23.6Mt at 0.64% nickel and 0.043% cobalt for a contained 168,500t of nickel and 11,300t of cobalt.

Assays are pending, and metallurgical test work is also underway.
