Assay results from a recently completed phase three drill program continue to come in for Aztec Minerals (TSXV: AZT). The results of five additional holes were released by the firm, which were conducted at its Cervantes Project in Sonora, Mexico.

The latest results are all centered on the California Zone at the Cervantes project, with the most recent results expanding the footprint of the intrusive complex by 450 metres to the southeast and 60 metres to the north, while the total depth of the complex is now at least 400 metres. Highlights from the results include:

  • CAL22-025: 9.0 metres of 0.646 g/t gold
  • CAL22-027: 120.0 metres of 0.677 g/t gold
  • CAL22-029: 57.0 metres of 0.773 g/t gold including 18.0 metres of 1.568 g/t gold

The total footprint of Cervantes is now being tested at a total width of 730 metres, with a length of 900 metres. Porphyry gold-copper mineralization is said to be open in all directions. Every hole, save for one, to date has intersected near surface oxidized gold with minor copper values.
