Marmota has wasted no time in following-up on last week’s bonanza 217g/t gold hit over 1m, starting an RC drill program to follow-up on potential extensions.
The drill program of between 60 to 80 holes totalling about 8,000m to test extensions to the northeast, southwest and at depth will continue until the Woomera Defence Area (where the Aurora Tank project is located) in South Australia is closed for military purposes.
It will resume when the area re-opens in early November.
Marmota’s (ASX:MEU) aggressive drilling push follows the intersection of its best ever intercept of 1m at 217 grams per tonne (g/t) gold in hole 22ATRC024 at the Aurora Tank, bringing the total number of drill programs to have intersected grades of more than 100g/t over 1m up to five.
Bonanza grades
The mineralised zone intersected by the latest bonanza grade hit appears deeper as well as structurally distinct and separate from the adjacent high-grade NW flank.
Marmota is also testing to follow the high-grade extensions to the southwest where they also appear to be tending towards surface
As such, the drill plans are aimed at finding another potential high-grade gold zone, which will further improve the scale of gold mineralisation at Aurora Tank.
