Large, wide hits of porphyry copper have set the scene for the maiden resource estimate at Cazaly Resources’ Bommie prospect near Halls Creek.

It will be the second prospect to host a JORC-compliant resource at Cazaly’s (ASX:CAZ) Halls Creek project, 25km southwest of the East Kimberley community of the same name.

The Mt Angelo North VMS ore body contains 1.72Mt at 1.4% copper, 1.4% zinc and 12.3g/t silver.

Bommie is different in nature, containing thick, lower grade intersections in excess of 100m, located around 2.5km south west of Mt Angelo North.

Final assay results for 3395m of RC resource drilling at Bommie continue to deliver large chunks of porphyry copper mineralisation, including:

  • 110m at 0.4% Cu from surface in HCRC0065
    • incl 4m at 1.1% Cu from 78m
  • 126m at 0.3% Cu from 54m in HCRC0067
  • 114m at 0.3% from 2m in HCRC0077
    • incl 4m at 1.1% Cu from 46m
  • 102m at 0.3% Cu from surface in HCRC0079
  • 100m at 0.3% Cu from surface in HCRC0080
  • 78m at 0.3% Cu from 72m in HCRC0074
    • incl 2m at 1.1% Cu from 78m

Open book

Bommie remains open, with plenty more chapters to write, with mineralisation open to the north and west of current drilling.

“We are pleased to see broad intercepts of copper mineralisation at the Bommie Prospect, with over 100m of mineralisation extending from surface,” Cazaly managing director Tara French said.

“We look forward to receiving the maiden resource estimation next month and are further encouraged by the current mineralisation envelope, which is open to the north and west of existing drilling, indicating further growth potential of this copper deposit.”
